My rant about how my old best friend is becoming me ):
So I had this friend that I recently started realizing that she's been copying me for a while now. First is was coincidences like how I drew medusa and so did she for an art project and that we liked similar things yk, normal stuff but then it got too far. She cut her hair a week after I did, got bangs and ive had bangs my whole life, I had a gudetamma shirt in 5th grade and she got a VERY similar one, she wore the same pants as me, she acts like shes a weezer and green day fan but can only name one song from each band (go away and welcome to paradise), I got obsessed with anime then she did, and I got a muichiro sword from demon slayer and she got a zenitsu one. the last straw was this week where she sent a photo of her Tv girl nails to the group chat. no big deal right? but I am obsessed with tv girl, I have the undersides of my hair dyed blue and pink for that band, and whenever I would recommend it or talk about it she would act like the music was okay. for context we have had very different music taste where she like songs that are HEAVILY auto tuned. before I had realized this I had mentioned once or twice that im SUPER into ice skating (I go at least twice a week) and I bet the next time I see her she is going to be an ice skating fanatic. I don't know what to do about it and literally cried myself to sleep last night because im scared to tell her that I dont want to be friends with her anymore and its always been hard for me to say how I feel because of my (diagnosed) social anxiety. also she once had said (to my big family) "Im so glad that I dont have a big family." WTF?! and she also approached me while I was wearing my favorite pants and said "where are you pants from- im going to buy them but no the same color so were not completely matching." double WTF?! I didnt need the exact reason you want those pants. she would also try to jump on my back though I had told her that I fell while ice skating and am injured. and one last thing, she has a crush on a guy who looks like the male version of me. She said to me "Birdie, I camee across this youtube short and is said 'would you date the male version of your best friend?' and I probably would because my crush looks like you!" WTFUCKKKK?!?!? why would you say that??? thats so freaking wierddd??!!! If anybody has any recommendations on what I should do please say it in the chat! My social anxiety is so bad im shaking as I write this.
